Cycling – social rides

CYCLING 
A family bike ride is run generally on the morning of the last Saturday of each month. Rides are predominantly on cycle or shared paths. The distance covered generally is between 20 – 35km. For details contact the office.

Coming up –

Oct 28th A day ride on the Great Southern Rail Trial. Starting from Koonwarra and with lunch in Fish Creek, the return distance is about 54km. Those wanting a day in the country but a shorter ride could start from Meeniyan for a return ride of 36km. Details on the ride notes below.

Recent rides have included – 

Sept 17 – repeat of the August ride, different group of people
Aug 17 – A loop ride from the Church / 1330 along the Dandenong Creek Trail to Dandenong returning along the Eastlink Trail. Return ride of 36km.
July 17 – An out and back from Glen Waverley to Glen Iris along the Scotchman’s Creek and Gardiner’s Creek Trails of 27km.
June 17 – An out and back from Blackburn Lake along the Gardiners Creek Trail then up to Ashburton. Return ride of 26km.
May 17 – A loop from the Church / 1330 down through Jells & Norton’s Parks then Blind Creek to Boronia, onto the rail trail to Upper Ferntree Gully and back along the Ferny Creek trail.
Apr 17 – Woori Yallock or Launching Place to Warburton.
Mar 17 – Starting from Hawthorn up to Ashburton then along the Anniversary Trail to Kew. Then downstream on the Yarra Trail to Burnley and back to Hawthorn.
