Cycling – social rides

CYCLING 
A family bike ride is run generally on the morning of the last Saturday of each month. Rides are predominantly on cycle or shared paths. The distance covered generally is between 20 – 35km. For details contact the office.


Recent rides have included – 

June 17 – An out and back from Blackburn Lake along the Gardiners Creek Trail then up to Ashburton. Return ride of 26km.
May 17 – A loop from the Church / 1330 down through Jells & Norton’s Parks then Blind Creek to Boronia, then the rail trail to Upper Ferntree Gully and back along the Ferny Creek trail.
Apr 17 – Woori Yallock or Launching Place to Warburton.
Mar 17 – Starting from Hawthorn up to Ashburton then along the Anniversary Trail to Kew. Then downstream on the Yarra Trail to Burnley and back to Hawthorn.
Feb 17 – Bayswater to Ringwood on the Rail Trail then the upper Mullum Creek to North Croydon with return loop via Eastlink Trail. The alternative start was Scoresby.
Jan 17 – Burnley down along the Yarra River trails to Port Melbourne returning along the Light Rail Bike track, 27km. The alternative start was Ashburton.
Nov 16 – Westerfold Park, Templestowe  to Eltham, then loop via Research to Diamond Creek returning direct, 28km
Oct 16 – Scoresby with a loop via Eastlink trail, Blind Creek trail to Boronia then Ferntree Gully returning on Ferny Creek Trail, 24km
Sept 16 – A day ride on part of the Great Victorian bike Trail starting at Cheviots Tunnel through to Alexandra. Return ride was 56 km with lunch in Alexandra.
